Taking the leap
I had recently finished studying and whilst working as a freelance social media manager I wanted a new challenge. Having grown up around my parent’s motorbike and car dealership, a role at CarFinance 247 seemed like quite a natural step for me.
After working with various clients, I knew that this was the path I wanted my career to take, so when the team approached me with the job, I was so excited to get stuck in!
Tell me about your day!
With a social media role, you get to do something completely different every day. Whether I am interacting with customers on social media or creating video content for TikTok, I feel so lucky that I get to do what I love.
Each day I learn something new, with the spontaneity and nature of the job I get to test out new strategies and ideas constantly, allowing me to develop my skills as well as watching our accounts grow! Everyone has been so lovely and friendly, and the flexibility ensures that I can always capture content at the right time.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
I don’t like to see things as a challenge, anything is possible if you put your mind to it. My mindset is that you should just go ahead and do it and figure it out as you go along.
The only small thing I can sometimes struggle with is my age. People can sometimes see your age and think that you are less experienced or immature, however it is all just mindset, CarFinance 247 has shown me that if you can do a job well, that biases shouldn’t matter.
What have you learnt in your first eight weeks?
I began my career as freelance so having the opportunity to come into a large, well-known company is a huge opportunity for me. I believe that joining the team has already opened me up to so many new experiences and taught me that formal qualifications don’t always matter, if you have the right attitude you can achieve anything.
